Andalucía
Andalucía stretches across the southern part of Spain from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and deep inland beyond the hills of the Sierra Morena. From flamenco and fiestas to bullfighting and beaches, the region embodies many of the archetypal images of Spain. But there are many other more rewarding attractions and the enduring legacy of the Moors and the historic cities that they established makes this one of the most fascinating regions of the country to explore.
Pescaíto frito (fried fish), gambas (prawns), jamón ibérico (cured ham) and olive oil are the standout elements of Andalucian cuisine, while the Moorish influence is apparent in many dishes.
Andalucia is also home to the renowned sweet wines of Málaga, the fresh and fruity whites of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and of course the sherries of Jerez de la Frontera.
