Vino blanco
White wine
Although the country is known more for its red wine, Spanish whites have gained a deserved reputation in recent decades.
Perhaps the best knows whites are from Galicia with the refined, aromatic Albariño a favourite and the more down-to-earth Ribero offering great value for money. Both make a wonderful accompaniment to seafood.
Verdejo from Rueda in the Duero River valley is refreshing and versatile, while Rioja’s whites are gaining in popularity too.
Also worth investigating are the Garnacha Blanca wines from Aragón and Catalunya.
