Portland, ME

Portland, ME

Located on Casco Bay, Portland (not to be confused with the one in Oregon — yes, they get it all the time!) is Maine’s biggest city. With cobblestone streets and a working port, a robust indie arts scene and a reknowned food scene, it has a cool vibe.

For a good day or two’s intro to Portland, follow the Portland In-2-Days itinerary.

Foodie Portland

While seafood is a recurrent theme, Portland features many cuisines, and restaurants pride themselves on hospitality and using seasonal ingredients. It’s no surprise that Portland boasts many James Beard award winners and nominees.

A good way to find eateries is The Portland Food Map. Some popular places are:

  • Isa - Cozy bistro with seasonal menu. (d; $$$)
