Maine’s Southern Coast

Mackerel Cove

For seaside towns and ocean vibes, Maine’s Southern Coast offers one great location after another between the Massachusetts border and the city of Portland. It’s called Vactionland for a reason!

What’s here? Lobster shacks, lighthouses, art galleries, beautiful strolls with the scent of sea salt in the air. Kennebunkport embodies laid-back chic in chinos. Ogunquit is as beautiful as its name. Wells is that just-right place in the middle, unpretentious and welcoming.

These smaller towns make the city of Portland feel like a metropolis, but there’s even places that will make those small towns feel huge. Monhegan Island, a remote artists' haven just offshore – accessible by ferry from Boothbay Harbor. This is also the launch point for cruises to see puffins on Eastern Egg Rock.
