Marginal Way

An ocean view to contemplate

Marginal Way, Olgunquit, Maine

For a walk along oceanside cliffs that invite the phrase, “It can’t get any better than this,” again and again — try walking the Marginal Way.

The paved path starts near The Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort on Shore Road and ends at Perkins Cove.

Perkins Cove, Maine

Meander down among the rocks or take advantage of the 39 benches to contemplate the sea view.

Perkins Cove is a cute village used by lobster fishermen, so it’s an ideal place to pick up lunch.

The other side has several miles of sandy beach and dunes.

Timing the walk with the rising or setting sun makes for a next-level experience.

At just 1.25 miles long in one direction, the walk is good for young kids and elderly alike.
