North Coast Archeology
Moche & Chimú
The Moche ruled the Northern Coast of Peru from 1CE to 800CE. The most important Moche sites are Huaca de la Luna & Huaca del Sol in Trujillo and El Brujo, where you can see the Lady of Cao. The best museum in Lima to see Moche artifacts is Museo Larco.
The Chimú ruled from 900CE to 1407CE, when they were conquered by the Inca. Their most important archeological site is Chan Chan.
The people of Casma lived at the same time as the Chimú but existed separately and apparently independently.
