Cape Royal Road

Grand Canyon National Park: Cape Royal Pine (North Rim)

Gateway to Adventure–Viewpoints and Trails

This winding 23-mile road connects The North Rim Visitors Center with Point Imperial, with views across the vastness abyss of the canyon into the Painted Desert and Marble Canyon. Then on to Cape Royal Viewpoint, popular for sunrise and sunset. Though only a 45-minute drive, plan on a half- or full day. Along the way you’ll pass 13 viewpoints, 17 day-hike trailheads, and the Ancient Puebloan Walhalla ruins.
