Cliff Springs Trail

Family-friendly hike

This easy 1-mile, round-trip leads through a narrow, wooded canyon with scenic cliffs to a view of the Inner Canyon. The spring drips from a limestone wall and nourishes moss, ferns, and flowers. Don’t drink the water, it may be contaminated.

The shady, moist canyon harbors wildflowers and attracts birds, wildlife, and presidents. Teddy Roosevelt camped here. About halfway, look for an Ancestral Puebloan granary built under an overhang. The trailhead begins at a pullout across from Angle’s Window Overlook, 0.3 miles from Cape Royal.
