Canyon Vista Campground

One of seven campgrounds in a row

Canyon Vista is the first of 7 campgrounds on Lake Mary Rd. (Forest Rd. 3) in the Lake Mary Recreation Corridor which runs southeast of Flagstaff. Only 6 miles from town, this campground has 14 campsites, hiking trails, rock climbing, and scenic vistas.

Hiking trails and loops lead to Sandy Canyons Trail, Vista Loop Trail, Walnut Canyon, and Arizona Trail and to The Pit rock climbing area.

Each campsite has a tent pad, table, and fire ring with water and vault toilets nearby. Sites are suitable for RVs and motor homes up to 40 feet long, but don’t have hook-ups or a dump station.

Directions: Take Lake Mary Road (Forest Rd. 3) 6 miles southeast of Flagstaff toward Mormon Lake (sometimes dry).

Further down the corridor

There are six more campgrounds at varying distances of up to 24 miles from Flagstaff. These include Pinegrove and Lakeview campgrounds. Four more campgrounds are located 20-24 miles from Flagstaff on Lake Mary Road near Mormon Lake: Ashurst Lake–Forked Pine (35°01’10.1″N; 111°24’31.1″W), Dairy Springs (34°57’22.4″N 111°28’55.5″W), and Double Springs (34°56’32.6″N 111°29’36.9″W).
