Eat & Drink Bridgetown

Bridgetown, Barbados

Central Bridgetown is sadly lacking variety in places to eat and drink – in part because there’s no tourist accommodation and few tourists spend much time here. Some come in for a few hours to wander around, and may stop of for a drink and a snack, but more make for Carlisle Bay before returning to their hotel or cruise ship for a main meal.

Food outlets in the city centre tend to serve local workers and shoppers with simple local dishes and take-aways, so are only open weekdays (and occasionally Saturdays) until around 4pm. Precisely because of the clientele, Bridgetown is a good place to sample some genuine Bajan dishes at local prices. Taking one of the walking food tours will help you navigate the culinary offerings, or you can discover some for yourself while on our Bridgetown-in-a-Day walking tour.
