Bearded Mountaineer Lodge
The Bearded Mountaineer
The Bearded Mountaineer is one of Peru’s most spectacular endemic hummingbirds, along with the Marvelous Spatuletail. The Bearded Mountaineer can be found year-round at these gardens, along with many other species of birds, like the Black-tailed Trainbearer below.
These lovely gardens with three bird blings, in the small town of San Salvador, near Pisac, are the perfect place for birdwatching and to get a taste of the Sacred Valley as it was before tourism.
The property’s owner, Uriel, has replanted the area with native flowers and fruit trees to attract birds. The lodge is still under construction and will be finished in 2026.
Open daily 8am-4:30pm.
Entrance fee is s/30 soles with an extra fee for professional photographers.
