Wildlife & Birding

Andean Cock-of-the-Rock

With the Peruvian Amazon, high altitude Andes and rich coast, this is a wonderful country for people who want to see birds and other animals in the wild.

Tours & agencies

Many of these places are difficult to access without a tour agency. This is either because transportation into the area is by boat or because guides are required by national park rules.

As always, when you’re choosing a tour agency, I recommend doing research – see my advice on Tour Agencies.

Don’t forget to check out my Peru’s Wildlife In-A-Week itinerary before you go.
