Most travelers first arrive in Lima and go through Cusco on their way to Machu Picchu.
While these are both amazing cities that you absolutely should see, there are many other interesting places in Peru that deserve a visit as well.
Peruvians refer to their country as being costa, sierra y selva coast, mountains and jungle. While most international visitors come for the Andes mountains, the coast is also fascinating and about 60% of the country is jungle. Try to see all three when you come to Peru.
