Tusayan
Home for scenic flights, national park shuttles, and hike & bike trailheads
Just one mile for the park entrance, Tusayan provides food and lodging when the park is full, which often occurs. Tusayan also boasts a small-plane airport with over-the-canyon flightseeing, hotels and restaurants, a commercial RV park and USFS campground, and visitor attractions. The National Geographic IMAX offers a preview of the grandeur of the canyon, plus all the made-in-Asia souvenirs your heart desires.
In the busy summer season, May–October, parking is almost impossible on the South Rim. The national park shuttle bus takes visitors from Tusayan to the park Visitor Center and transportation hub connecting to the other shuttle routes to South Rim attractions and viewpoints. For hikers, the paved Tusayan Greenway trail leads into the park and the Tusayan Bike Trails loop through the national forest.
