Holetown Beach

Turquoise marine reserve waters

Technically still part of the marine reserve, the waters off Holetown Beach are not as full of fish or coral, but they make for pleasant swimming – though avoid the area by the storm drain after heavy rains. A couple of groins at the back of the police station provide particularly sheltered swimming. As it’s very much a tourist beach, expect to be pestered by guys offering glass-bottomed boat tours and the like.

Also behind the police station, Surfside Beach Bar is an institution, offering affordable pub grub and a screen for the big match.

By car: There is limited parking by Surfside, but most park over the other side of the main road in the supermarket car park.

By bus: Any of the frequent blue or yellow buses that shuttle between Speightstown, Holetown and Bridgetown along the West Coast road can drop you off/pick you up at the bus stop outside the police station.
