TRIP ESSENTIALS

How Much Time To Spend

Provence covers a large area from the mighty River Rhône in the west to the Italian border in the east, and up to the High Alps in the north. So there is no way this can be covered and really appreciated in one trip!

This app tends to feature the southern parts of the Région i.e. Bouches-du-Rhône & Vaucluse in the west, the Var in the centre and the Alpes-Maritimes in the east. You really need a couple of weeks (at least!) in each of these and even then you'll only have had a glimpse of the High Alps in the north.

Of course if you only want to see the bigger cities like Marseille and Nice, allow three or four days for each and a little less for for the smaller ones such as Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Arles.
