Marcelo Batata’s Cooking Class

Near San Blas

The Marcelo Batata Cooking Class is the only one near San Blas and the only one that doesn’t include a market tour. It’s not close enough to a market for that to be practical, so they have a room set up like a market. While the chef is teaching you about Andean fruits, vegetables and grains, the sous-chef will bring in a few courses of small appetizers, below.

Of all the cooking classes in Cusco, this is the one with the best sous-chefs who will do most of the chopping and prep work for you so you can spend all your time tasting and cooking.

The owners are also passionate about environmental conservation and 10% of proceeds are used for local conservation projects and environmental education with local children. Learn more on their Instagram Avistando Peru.
