Pumamarca
Hike & archeological site (2hrs)
Pumamarca is a lovely hike from Ollantaytambo, about 1hr each way, up the valley that stretches north from town. There is a small archeological site and a cute little town, but most people just go for the beautiful hike.
On the way you’ll walk along an original Inca irrigation canal and see lots of original Inca terraces that are still farmed today.
It is possible to get a taxi from Ollantaytambo up to the archeological site, but it’s a dirt road so most drivers willing to go here are moto-taxis.
There is no entry fee and no opening or closing hours.
