Q’eswachaka Rope Bridge

Historic Inca bridge

Crossing Q’eswechaka Bridge

Q'eswachaka rope bridge isn’t a hike because you can drive to it, but the bridge is absolutely worth going to see. Getting around the Andes requires bridges and there used to be hundreds, if not thousands, of rope bridges throughout Tahuantinsuyo.

The bridge is rebuilt every June. If you’re in Cusco in June, check with local tour agencies for a day trip. Most agencies have trips there, especially on the weekend that it’s rebuilt. Since it’s always a weekend, the date changes but it’s usually mid-June.
