Gocta Waterfall
Pretty trail & birds (5hrs)

One of the tallest waterfalls in the world, and the third tallest in Peru, is Gocta Falls, which has two drops, is 771 meters (2,530 feet). It has only been developed as a tourist attraction since 2002, with a 5km trail that takes about 2.5 hours hiking each way if you stop frequently for photos and birds. The trail is just as beautiful as the falls, so I recommend taking your time.
The best way to visit is to spend the night in Cocachimba and walk from town in the morning. Buy your s/30 soles ticket from the tourist office on the plaza. The trail is well maintained but none of it is flat and you need good hiking shoes. You can hire a horse for s/60, which will take you the first 3km. You have to walk the last 2km, so 4km (2.5 miles) round trip to get back to where the horse is waiting for you.
