Day 1: Central Boston

Introductions

View to the Boston's Back Bay from Boston Common - Boston, Massachusetts

If you don’t have breakfast in your hotel, then try the North End where there are plenty of options and good bakeries, including Modern Pastry and Mike’s Pastry.

Morning

Time for orientation. One popular way to get a handle on the city is with an amphibious DUCK tour. Join one at Long Warf, next to the New England Aquarium and only a 10 minute walk from North End. Try the nearby Granary Tavern afterwards for lunch.

If you’d rather do a walking tour then head over to Boston Common – about a 20 minute walk from the North End -– a few minutes longer if you go via Quincy Market to pick up some picnic items for later; which is recommended if the weather’s good.
