Rental Scooters & Cars

Useful on Aitutaki

If you’re going to explore Aitutaki island, renting some wheels is a great way to go. A Bicycle may be all you need, but scooters or cars are an option.

Some accommodation places offer their own rentals to guests, while others will arrange rentals for you with local operators.

Aquila Rentals Ltd - cars, scooters (& bicycles)

Popoara Rentals - cars & scooters

Ranginui’s Retreat - cars & scooters

Some rules

Legally, you do not need to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle or scooter on Aitutaki – and even if you ask for a helmet, they might not have one!

No drink-driving and keep in mind that the speed limit is 40kmph all over the island except the long straight that parallels the airport runway, where it is 60kmph.
