Airport

Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI)

All flights arrive at Barbados’ only airport – Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) (pictured above) located in the south of the island, 11 miles (17km) east of the capital, Bridgetown.

Most high-end hotels and resorts send a courtesy vehicle to pick up arrivals and take visitors back to the airport on departure. Other accommodation can usually arrange to meet you at the airport for an additional cost.

If you have a car rental organised, the car will be at the airport (turn left at the exit) on your arrival.

Authorised taxis are also stationed at the arrivals exit. They can take you to your accommodation anywhere on the island. The fixed rates are advertised on a board at the exit.

There is also a frequent bus service (#12A) that links the airport with Bridgetown, travelling west via Oistins, along the South Coast. It also heads eastwards towards the Crane. The more sporadic #27 bus passes through Bridgetown and heads up the West Coast via Holetown to Speightstown.

The airport has 24hr ATMs and money exchange kiosks (daily 5am–9pm), a small tourist information kiosk and is wheelchair accessible.
