Reggae Festival

Four big outdoor events (Apr)

Damian Marley México 2011

While reggae is synonymous with Jamaica, its beat is big throughout the Caribbean, as the popular Barbados Reggae Festival proves.

Alongside various satellite gigs, four main events showcase diverse reggae sounds including dancehall, ska and fusion: Vintage Reggae (usually at Kensington Oval), Reggae Beach Party, Reggae Party Cruise, with the grand finale, Reggae on the Hill, a day-long boozy picnic affair at the glorious Farley Hill National Park.

Past global stars have included Damian Marley (youngest son of you-know-who – and pictured above), Wyclef Jean and Shaggy, as well as plenty of local talent.
