Bars, Nightlife & Drinking
Hanging out with friends, or limin’, is so much the cornerstone Bajan culture – as in much of the Caribbean – that it tends to morph into the island’s nightlife.
Nightlife destinations
For a wild night out, St Lawrence Gap is the traditional place for visitors and islanders alike to let their hair down, full of bars and restaurants, though the smart Bajan set head for First and Second St in Holetown, where there’s as much action in the streets, as in the lounge-bars. Oistins is another popular weekend destination, particularly on nights for its Fish Fry.
The converted chattel houses of Pelican Island – close to the cruise ship terminal – contain various bars and restaurants. You can expect a DJ or live evening entertainment at weekends.
