Catch a ferry to the surf

Manly Beach

No Sydney trip is complete without a 30-minute ferry ride from Circuclar Quay to Manly, sailing past the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and waterfront mansions of the city’s elite.

In Manly, the pedestrianised Corso leads to the neighbourhood’s sweeping ocean beach. While you could happily linger here, turn right and follow the shore to the idyllic sandy cove of Shelly Beach. Flanking it is The Boathouse, a breezy, beach-shack-styled cafe perfect for a pre- or post-swim brunch.

The street beside the cafe leads up to Sydney Harbour National Park, where spectacular harbour, ocean and skyline views await.
