Bars & Clubs

Nacht club schule

The line between music venues, bars, and late night restaurants is blurred in Austin since many establishments offer a little of everything. The selections below are well-located and well-loved Austin favorites.

For up-to-the-minute information on Austin’s very active nightlife, consult the Austin Chronicle or Austin 360.

Downtown

Austin is well known for the scene on Sixth Street, roughly bounded by Red River Street to the east and Congress Avenue to the west and taking in a several-block strip of bars, restaurants, and clubs on Fifth Street. The adjacent Warehouse District, on Fourth and Fifth Streets between Congress Avenue and Guadalupe Street, is also hopping at night.

Rainey Street

Heading east, the scene mellows a bit on Red River Street and in the Rainey Street District, both of which host live music many evenings and weekends.

South and East Austin

The South Austin & South of Congress and East Austin neighborhood offer more intimate music venues and late-night eateries.
