French Riviera/Côte d'Azur

The Beach at St-Raphael

The French Riviera is known throughout the world as a fabulous playground on the shores of the Mediterranean where the rich and famous gather in exclusive places to sun themselves and generally have a great time.

Nowadays of course there is room for everyone and whole coast is a very popular holiday destination. It can be very busy especially during July and August and it worth trying to visit outside of the main season if you can.

There is no official boundary to the French Riviera. However, people usually consider the Riviera as the coastline from St Tropez in the Var to Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes on the Italian border where the Italian Riviera takes over in Liguria.

Please note that information about St Tropez and other great resorts can be found in my app Provence’s Best

The Esterel between Fréjus & Cannes

The app includes my Riviera: a drive from Nice to Italy itinerary - an excellent way to make sure you don't miss any of the region's highlights.

Further easy day-trips covered by this app, will include world-renowned destinations of Riviera aficionados: Antibes, Cannes and St-Paul-de-Vence.
