Huaraz Hot Springs

Pools & saunas

Chancos Pool

The best hot springs near Huaraz are at Chancos, where you have the choice of a big public pool (pictured above), small pools in a private room or even caves that are natural saunas.

Closer to town is the Monterrey Hotel (this entry’s map location), which also has hot springs (below). The water doesn’t look as appealing as Chancos, but it feels just as good.

There are dozens of smaller hot springs scattered up and down the Callejón de Huayallas, the valley that stretches northwest from Huaraz. Most aren’t on maps and are known only to locals. If you’re into hot springs, ask for more information at the Casa de Guías in Huaraz.
