Beaches & Surfing

MoviStar Peru Peru Classic

Peru has a lot of undeveloped beaches and a few beach resorts. If you like your beaches free, with few hotels or restaurants, Peru is your jam. If you like beach resorts, there are a few near Lima, Trujillo or Máncora.

Surfing

The coast north of Lima is a great region for surfers, where people still use traditional totora reed “caballitos” for fishing and surfing. Here’s a fun video on surfing with totora caballitos.

I have only listed a few of the beaches here but the most popular are Puerto Malabrigo and Trujillo. If you’re a surfer, just start driving north from Lima. There are dozens more surfable beaches than the ones I’ve included here.
