Lima In-A-Day

The Peruvian Capitol

Parque de Amor Lima

This itinerary gives you some time to walk but also requires a couple taxis. With just one day, you only have time for Miraflores and Central Lima.

Morning

Start your day in Lima with a walk along the coastline parks through Miraflores. In Spanish this is called the malécon. It’s a paved path along the top of the bluff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. There is also a parallel bike path, so you can bike if you don’t feel like walking. Start on the north end at Parque de los Niños and walk south to the Parque de Amor. Spend some time at the Parque de Amor and enjoy the view of the beach velow, the mosaics and the quotes in the park.

Lima Malecon Walk

Lunch

My favorite ceviche restaurant is less than a block from the Parque de Amor. Punta Sal is a great place to stop after your walk along the malécon.

Afternoon

Catch a taxi to the Larco Museum. If you’d rather be outside, try the waterpark.

Evening

Get another taxi back to Miraflores, walk through Parque Kennedy and the adjacent Parque 7 de Junio to watch locals dancing, visit an antique market and see the uniquely Lima practice of feeding stray cats in the park. You can also see some of Lima’s best nightlife at the bars on Calle Berlin.
