The Glasshouse

Music venue par excellence

The Sage Music Centre

Inaugurated in 2004, this unique contemporary structure designed by Lord Foster and Partners, is fascinating both to observe and explore.

It is simultaneously a venue for live music performances and a Music Education Centre catering for the local community. It is the base of the Royal Northern Sinfonia Orchestra and has two performance areas with world-class acoustics.

In its short history the Glasshouse (formerly the Sage) has welcomed such varied performers as Neil Sedaka, Joan Baez, Don McClean, Jamie Cullum and KT Tunstall.

Simply look around for free, maybe book a performance and should you fancy some refreshments, they can do that too!

Check out the Google Street map which shows you around the Concourse.
