Provincetown, MA

From Mayflowers to rainbows

Provincetown on Cape Cod this week

At the tip of Cape Cod lies Provincetown, affectionally known as P-Town, a vibrant, bohemian enclave with galleries, restaurants, and quirky shops.

The Mayflower first landed in Provincetown, so colonial history buffs will want to check out the Pilgrim Monument and the Provincetown Museum.

LGBTQ+ summer scene

Provincetown isn’t just pilgrims. It also is a hub for a LGBTQ+ community as the town’s population swells to over 60,000 visitors.

Things are at their most celebratory during June’s Pride Week, but summer and fall events like TransWeek, Fantasia, Women’s Week, Carnival, and Bear Week each have their own vibe of parties, dance events, leather balls, and beach hangs.

For those seeking a night of packed dance floors try the Atlantic House or the Paramount. The famous daily Tea Dance takes place poolside at the Boatslip Resort and Beach Club.
