Harvard Art Museums

From mummy brown pigment to Klimt

Peach

Inside a beautifully renovated complex, the Fogg, Busch-Reisinger, and Arthur M. Sackler collections come together for an art party you don’t want to miss.

International

Some strengths: a Bauhaus collection, European holdings including Old Masters (Rubens, Ingres, Lucas Cranach the Elder, Blake), and the Asian holdings (Tang dynasty sculpture, Chinese vases, Japanese prints, Buddhist statues).

American

American works are here too - O’Keefe, Sargent, Johns, Warhol. If time is short, don’t miss these highlights: the Wertheim Collection’s Impressionists, Mark Rothko’s Harvard Murals, and conservation labs visible from the galleries. The Forbes Pigment collection is a one of a kind special collection with colors like mummy brown, ultramarine from lapis lazuli, and Tyrian purple.
