Riad Kniza Collection

Free antiques museum - متحف رياض كنيزة

Riad Kniza Collection

The Riad Kniza Collection is a free museum of antiques collected by Haj Mohamed Bouskri, the owner of Riad Kniza, which is just opposite.

Haj Mohammed used to run Marrakesh's top antique store (now closed), and this is the cream of his collection, beautifully displayed and well worth a visit.

Riad Kniza Collection

Most of the items displayed here are from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, including ceramics, textiles, costimes, carpets and jewellery, with some old photos of Marrakesh too.

The museum charges no entry fee but has an in-house shop on its ground floor, selling jewellery, accessories and some antiques. Visitors to the museum are of course welcome to make purchases, but there's certainly no pressure or obligation to do so.
