Kanji wall

Though Japanese is the only language you’ll likely hear on the street, English is generally understood to some extent, especially by younger people, in major cities and in popular tourist areas.

All Japanese studied English at school, but some studied harder than others.... and while some may be timid to try it, others may cross a busy street to practice their English with you.

Part of the fun of being in Japan is figuring out how to get where you want to go and problem-solving your way through your trip.

Remember.... you’re never really lost if you don’t care where you are!

This is one of the safest countries in the world. Go out and soak in some Japanese culture with few worries by just wandering around.

Read this if you’re worried about safety & honesty in Japan: Tokyo residents returned a record ¥3.99 billion in lost cash last year. That’s an absolutely staggering US$30 million!!!
