Tōkyō Skytree 東京スカイツリー

634m tower with Japan’s highest observation decks

Tokyo Skytree

If your keen for huge views out over the world’s most populous metropolis, head to Tōkyō Skytree, a 20-30min walk across the Sumida River from Asakusa.

The two observation decks, the highest in Japan, sit at 350m and 450m of the 634m tower. Expect to pay 2-3,000 yen depending on the day and how far up you go.

Endless Cityscape of Tokyo

At the base of Tōkyō Skytree you’ll find Tōkyō Solamachi, a huge shopping, dining and entertainment complex.

With its proximity to Asakusa, consider combining these two on the same day.

For free views out over Tokyo, head to the observation decks at the 243m twin towers of the Metropolitan Government Office in Shinjuku.
