Harajuku

Harajuku, 2 stops south of Shinjuku and 1 stop north of Shibuya on the JR Yamanote line, is a famous shopping and entertainment district for young people, especially teenagers.

This is a people-watching hotspot and most of the fun here is just strolling down Takeshita-dori.

Nearby Omotesandō caters to an older and wealthier clientele with stores, boutiques, cafes and restaurants - and is a well known Tōkyō shopping street.

The main entrance to Meiji Shrine, one of Japan’s most popular shrines, is located next to Harajuku Station.

Also here, next to Harajuku station, is the entrance to Yoyogi-kōen, one of Tōkyō’s largest parks.
