EAT, DRINK, SHOP+
Time flies by for most international visitors to Japan - the unique Japanese culture is all around you and you’re just having so much fun eating, drinking, shopping and being totally entertained by the simplest of things - such as wandering down the street and checking out a local supermarket.
Meals, drinking & budgets
Don’t worry if you’re on a strict budget. There are decent meals to be had everywhere in Japan for breakfast, lunch and dinner for less than 1000 yen.
Japanese snack food like onigiri (rice balls), canned drinks and even alcohol at konbini (convenience stores) are all incredibly reasonable.
And going out to a cheap izakaya (Japanese style bar) in the evening is a top experience.
Of course, if your wallet’s fat you’ll have great experiences too!
Eating & Drinking
It’s best not to stress too much about eating & drinking options in Japan - make sure you’re in a busy neighbourhood, stroll down the street and see what looks good.
Remember, if you’ve got limited or no Japanese language ability, you’ll want to pick a place with an English language menu, a picture menu or plastic food samples outside.
