Supai Tunnel hike

Half-day below the rim

Great views of the inner canyon on this strenuous 3.6-mile roundtrip from the North Rim. The route drops 1,400 feet through brilliant rock strata and fir-aspen forests to more arid life zones. Water and toilets available May–Oct. at the tunnel.

Plan at least 3–4 hours for the roundtrip. The North Rim mule rides use the trail to reach Roaring Springs. North Kaibab Trail trailhead begins at the parking lot .9 miles past the Cape Royal/Point Imperial road junction. For details and descriptions of the
North Kaibab trail features, download a PDF of the NPS brochure.
