Hull Cabin

USFS Off-grid hideaway ($$)

Who says you can’t get off the grid in the most popular national park in the nation? Check into Hull Cabin in the Kaibab National Forest just one mile outside the park boundary. Built in 1880s, the cabin is listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places, and it’s only 5 miles by road from Grandview Point on Desert View Drive.

With a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace and queen-sized futon, and bedroom with 2 twin bunk beds, this hideaway sleeps 6. The vault toilet is in a separate house with 2 solar showers. Surrounded by ponderosa pines, the cabin and small water tank attract wildlife and people who enjoy seclusion. Bring your own linens, axe for firewood, food, toiletries, flashlight. For information and directions, contact the Tusayan Ranger District office, 928-638-2443.
