Set beside the pubs and antique shops of Exeter’s historic quayside, Saddles & Paddles opens up miles of waterways and trails.
From the quay, the River Exe flows to the sea, edged by the Exeter Canal and framed by cycle and foot paths.
Possible Routes
Options include an 11-mile return trip to the waterside Turf pub (five hours return if paddling; three hours by bike).
Or opt for the 3.5 mile return trip (2 hours paddling; 40 minutes by bike) to the Double Locks pub.
You can also cycle to Powderham Castle (14 miles return), and the resort of Dawlish (24 miles return).
