Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery

Rum tasting on the beach

In business since 1893, Stade’s West Indies Rum Distillery beats its competitors hands down for location – it’s bang on Brighton Beach.

Two tours are on offer; both start with a welcome cocktail (and some water!). Most choose the 20-minute tasting, during which you get to sample four rums while gazing at the sea.

Access to their beach club is included in the price; stretch out on their sun loungers, enjoy more rum (at additional cost), and tuck into some tasty bar snacks (for sale).

Hour-long tour

During the one-hour distillery tour, you get to peer at the distiller’s vault, admire some historic stills, and visit the rum-ageing warehouse.

Here, you get to sample some spirit straight from the barrel before moving on to the rum tasting proper on their beach deck bar. Beach club access is also included.
