Brandon's & Brighton beaches

Northern Bridgetown's beaches

Brighton Beach, Barbados

Heading north out of town – within striking distance of the cruise ship terminal – is Brandon’s Beach, which merges into Brighton Beach as you stroll northwards. A long stretch of sparkling sand, you’ll find it buzzing with Barbadians exercising in the early mornings and evenings, from keep fit classes, to beach volleyball and paddle tennis. There’s also some excitement around an aqua-adventure park.

Much of the activity centres on Rascals, a popular vibey bar-restaurant plum on the beach, under shady trees, which occasionally hosts live music.

From the cruise ship terminal, Brandons/Brighton Beach is a 20-minute walk away. No buses pass that way, but you can get off any bus from Princess Alice Bus Terminal (Bridgetown) that passes the Kensington Oval cricket ground (e.g. ZR 3). From here, it’s a 10-15-minute (1km) walk.
