Bottom Bay

Photographer's favorite

Favoured for wedding and fashion shoots, the beauty of Bottom Bay belies its name.

It’s not a place to swim, given the strong waves and undertow, but it’s picture-perfect, semi-enclosed by coralstone cliffs, with a clump of palm trees protruding onto the beach (pictured above). When the sun is bright, the water is a stunning aquamarine.

By bus: Blue bus #12A to Sam Lord’s Castle passes the end of the access road to the beach (ask the driver), from where it’s a half-mile (800m) walk.

There is a parking area, but there are no facilities at Bottom Bay and the path down to the beach is fairly steep and uneven.
