Gospelfest

Festival of gospel music

Howard Gospel Choir 3

Given that Barbados is a religious nation which possesses bags of musical talent, it’s no surprise that one of the year’s biggest celebrats is Gospelfest – a week-long festival of gospel music that attracts international, regional (from across the Caribbean) and local artists.

The festival’s repertoire has been expanded in recent years to include dance, theatre and workshops for aspiring gospel artists, as well as broadening the range of music, incorporating calypso, reggae, jazz and soul. The event culminates in One Awesome Day – a huge open-air concert and picnic at Farley Hill National Park.
