The Riverside
A Chiang Mai legend
Since 1984, The Riverside has been attracting a wide variety of locals, expats and tourists to its roost by the Ping River, though these days the main part of the restaurant is across the road.
Since its early days, it has managed to keep up its reputation for excellent Thai and international cuisine, top-quality live musicians and a good range of local and imported beers, so it’s often listed as a restaurant or entertainment venue rather than a bar.
If you can arrive before sunset and snag a table by the river, you’re in for a great evening. Alternatively, book a place on their dinner cruise, order your meal and hop on the boat at around 7.15pm.
