Ko Chang

Eastern bliss

As a large island with gorgeous beaches and a mountainous interior, Ko Chang offers a good alternative to Thailand’s two big islands in the south— Ko Samui and Phuket. The only difference is that there’s no airport on the island as the terrain is too rugged, but transfer by minivan and ferry from Trat Airport is relatively painless.

Plenty of activities

Ko Chang features a good range of accommodation from luxury to budget, plenty of dining options and fun activities like elephant camps, snorkelling trips and cooking schools.

Best beaches

All the best beaches are on the west coast, the most popular being Hat Sai Khao (White Sand Beach) and as on Ko Samet, the further south you go, the quieter the beaches become.
