Khao Sok National Park

Jungle adventure

Khao Sok National Park

Khao Sok has all the ingredients for a classic jungle adventure; towering trees and dense undergrowth, a tranquil lake and rugged limestone cliffs.

It’s home to nearly 50 species of mammals, including sun bears, leopards, langurs and gibbons, as well as over 300 species of birds. There are several well marked trails in the park and most lodges and guest houses located near park headquarters offer guided walks (highly recommended).

Cheow Lan Lake

This huge lake, 65km from the park headquarters, is bordered by limestone cliffs rising almost 1000 metres, and attracts many animals and birds in the morning and evening. It’s possible to stay on a raft on the lake if you take an overnight tour, and some tour operators offer longtail boat rides on the lake.

The only access to the park is by bus from Surat Thani to the east or Takua Pa to the west.
