Wat Pho

A massive reclining Buddha

Many visitors take in Wat Pho at the same time as The Grand Palace, since they are located virtually next door to each other. While this can be a good idea, prepare for sensory overload as both places are packed with memorable sights.

The reclining Buddha

Wat Pho’s most famous attraction is the 45-metre long Reclining Buddha, but there is much else of interest in the temple grounds, including statues depicting early Western visitors, stupas encrusted with ceramic shards, and Thailand’s most famous massage school, where you can either indulge in a traditional treatment or sign up to study massage yourself.
